Who we are
Helira is operated by Rabbiico Technologies Pty Ltd (ABN 50 152 099 586), an Australian company. Our platform helps Australian drivers find fuel prices, compare electric vehicles, calculate solar savings, and locate chargers.
Lawful basis for collection
We collect personal information only where it is reasonably necessary for providing the Helira service (APP 3). You may use a display name or pseudonym instead of your real name where practicable (APP 2) — only your email address is required for account creation.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Account information — email address, display name, and profile photo (if you sign in with Google)
- Usage data — which features you use, search queries, and pages visited (via PostHog analytics)
- Location — suburb or postcode you search for (not your GPS location)
- Payment information — processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
How we use your data
- To provide fuel prices, EV comparisons, and AI recommendations
- To send price alerts and weekly fuel summaries you opted into. You can unsubscribe from any marketing or promotional emails at any time via your notification preferences or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email
- To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns
- To process payments through Stripe
What we never do
- Sell your personal data to anyone
- Share your data with advertisers
- Track your physical location via GPS
- Use dark patterns to extract more data than needed
Cross-border data transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside Australia. By using Helira, you consent to the transfer of your data to these services:
- Supabase — database and authentication (Sydney, Australia — primary; backup infrastructure in the US)
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI features are processed on Anthropic's servers in the United States. Your search queries are sent to generate recommendations but are not stored by Anthropic beyond the request.
- Stripe — payment processing (United States)
- PostHog — product analytics (United States)
- Mapbox — map rendering (United States)
We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers maintain appropriate data protection standards consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Third-party services
We use the following services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase (database and authentication, Sydney region)
- Stripe (payment processing)
- PostHog (product analytics)
- Anthropic Claude (AI features — your queries are not stored by the AI)
- Mapbox (maps)
- Resend (transactional email)
- Google (OAuth sign-in)
Children's data
Helira is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@helira.com.au and we will delete it promptly.
Data retention
Your account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregate data (like average fuel prices) may be retained indefinitely.
Data breach notification
In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme of the Privacy Act 1988. We will notify you within 30 days of becoming aware of the breach, including:
- What data was affected
- What steps we are taking to contain the breach
- What you can do to protect yourself
- How to contact us for further information
Data quality
We take reasonable steps to ensure the personal information we hold is accurate, up-to-date, complete, and relevant (APP 10). You can update your profile information at any time via your account settings.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us at hello@helira.com.au and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
